Job Description

The Program Analyst reports to the Deputy Country Manager, Bangladesh, and has two functions:

  • Provide technical and programmatic assistance to the Bangladesh program portfolio (expected 50% level of effort (LOE)) to the ongoing projects in Bangladesh;
  • Provide business analyticsand operational supportto the Operations and Finance Manager (expected 50% LOE), with a primary focus on analyzing budgets, preparing forecasts, and coordinating country-level operations including meetings, training, and workshops.

The Program Analyst brings strong quantitative and research skills, and managerial capacity (typically in health economics, health financing, health insurance, business analytics, statistics, public health, and market research) as well as a solid understanding of the design, implementation, monitoring, andevaluation of health sector programs. This is a full time position based in Dhaka.

responsibilities

Technical and Programmatic Support (expected 50% LOE)

  • Provide technical support to conduct desk research including literature reviews, data collection, management, and analysis for projects.
  • Provide technical support in data analyses across areas of the program portfolio as required.
  • Support team members in producing high-quality written reports and presentations, including technical documents, project status reports, policy briefs, and publications for conferences and journals.
  • Work with team members to support the development of data collection tools and managing field activities.
  • Provide technical support in maintaining collaboration with different stakeholders including ministries and their relevant departments for effective project implementation.
  • Provide administrative and management support in organizing meetings, consultations, and workshops including event planning, agenda development, communication, etc. with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain technical (e.g., meeting minutes) and administrative (e.g., list of participants) documentation of project meetings, consultations, and workshops.
  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Project Administration and Operations (expected 50% LOE)

  • Support the Operations and Finance Manager in the compilation, quality control, and submission of relevant project documents.
  • Assist in conducting project budget and cost analyses and reviews for internal audit and external reporting purposes.
  • Maintain constant communication with the technical team and administration to ensure operational activities remain on time and within the defined budget.
  • Support in the oversight and management of project equipment and asset inventories, ensuring these are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Support the development of receipts and invoices for external payments for the project.
  • Support a range of project administrative and operational responsibilities, as needed, including coordinating travel, accommodation, and other logistics for field activities, honorarium for meeting/workshop, and consultant payment, etc.
  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
