Why is this role important to Field Nation?The Director of Strategy will help Field Nation’s executive team to define and execute Field Nation’s long-term growth strategy to accelerate growth. Working with all functions of the organization, this role will partner with Field Nation’s executive team by evaluating the external marketplace and internal landscape and then arming them with the critical market data, insights and analysis required to define and execute against Field Nation’s short-term and long term strategic goals.
Field Nation’s corporate office is located in Minneapolis, MN. While it is preferred this position be located in Minneapolis, for the right top performer, this position could be fully-remote. This role reports to the CEO.What you’ll do:

- Own annual strategic planning process, cadence, and material preparation in collaboration with CEO and executive team
- Leverage structured approach and generate insights to inform long and short-term Field Nation strategy
- Solicit investment business cases and help manage prioritization process with executive team
- Manage market research vendors and review the outputs, recommendations and analysis that results in compelling recommendations for the executive team
- Help define strategy via highly-structured, hypothesis-based market, competitor, channel, customer analysis including segmentation and key use cases
- Work closely alongside the Product, Marketing and Sales teams to identify opportunities to increase market share
- Monitor and assist key strategic initiatives (as defined in strategic planning process) with the executive team to ensure successful completion
- Work with the executive leaders to convert strategy to execution, including key performance indicators
- Work closely with the CFO to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or industry-related field required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years work experience ideally with a background in Consulting, Product Management, Finance, PE, corporate strategy or similar role
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling skills required
- Advanced knowledge of data management, manipulation and analysis
- Possess strong intellectual curiosity that allows for idea generation and ability to solve business problems
- Structured thinker ability with experience leveraging hypothesis-driven approach
- Demonstrate how insights led to action through a portfolio of work
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen to include proven experience in grasping market and technology trends
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
