iDE is an international NGO with over 40 years of experience in designing and delivering market-based anti-poverty programs in 10 countries. iDE was one of the first organizations to unlock the power of markets to fight poverty, reaching over 39 million people since 1982. iDE Bangladesh is the oldest iDE country program, operated since 1982. Over the last four decades, iDE Bangladesh has focused on innovation in agriculture, food and nutrition security, WASH, clean energy, green enterprise development and women's economic empowerment with a market-based approach to address the increasing challenges climate change poses.
iDE Bangladesh is currently seeking a qualified Project Manager (Capacity amp; MSD) for the project titled Bamboo for Climate Action (B4CA) project funded by SDC. In this B4CA project, iDE will work on market, private sector and business components to integrate support for host and Rohingya communities, focusing on the bamboo sector.
The Project Manager leads the implementation of the market component and will provide the project with overall vision, leadership, and guidance internally with project staff and externally with private sector partners, the Government of Bangladesh, and other relevant stakeholders. Moreover, the Project Manager will assume principal responsibility for overall project management and technical operations to ensure that project tasks are completed and objectives are met. This position is also responsible for implementing the project interventions and field operations with the support of Operations and Programs teams and various support teams such as Finance, Admin, and MERL. She/he will have to support the field team, guide partners, and assist in developing the project DIP, develop the budget and project implementation strategies, develop technical papers and tools for smooth field implementation, project progress monitoring, and proposed changes required for quality implementation. She/he will also ensure quality engagement of human resources according to the project’s requirement, facilitate staff capacity building process, initiate project startup, and smooth closing initiatives. The Project Manager must also be competent and able to guide the field team for quality project implementation, play a leadership role in project management, and review the performance of project personnel. The work also includes participating in and directly engaging in crisis management, supporting and managing projects (including communication) with support organizations and other partners.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Project Manager (Capacity amp; MSD), B4CA will include but are not limited to the descriptions below-
Play a leading role in the delivery of project outcomes and expected results following project strategy, which provides a framework for the rural economic and service market;
Play an active role and coordinate with relevant technical units in planning and providing programmatic guidance for the project staff, partners, and other stakeholders according to project guidelines and donor requirements;
Provide regular inputs and recommendations to the B4CA Project team and strategic leadership (comprised of the institutional representatives of the coalition partners) towards achieving goals for the project.; and,
Lead on engagement with partner organizations and represent iDE both in the consortium and other external stakeholders
Create a positive environment of piloting, trials, testing theories, learning from mistakes, and critical analysis
Provide strategic direction and support field team, partners, and private sectors in operating project interventions as per plan and adopt relevant changes considering global situations;
Monitor the progress of field teams and provide regular updates to the senior management team and lead partners to deliver high-quality and measurable outcomes
Actively seek an environment of adaptive management and implementation
Create a positive environment of piloting, trials, testing theories, learning from mistakes, and critical analysis
Actively and openly engage iDE program units to strengthen project strategy
Collaboratively plan and implement project activities through the preparation of multiyear and annual work plans in collaboration with the Technical Specialists and Field Team colleagues
Facilitate and frame the strategic direction of the project in collaboration with the Associate Directors
Ensure the application of iDE’s market system approach and closely work with market actors specific to selected value chains and business groups/actors
Submit timely donor reports on a monthly, quarterly, and y
